Before the arrival of large, take-home PET lemonade bottles – there was Sodastream!

The Peterborough-based company had developed and successfully protected its patents for carbonating water in small glass bottles for many years. The advent of the new bottle materials, such as polycarbonate that was strong and impermeable to CO2, meant that larger volumes of water could be pressurised to the required 175 ppsi without fear of the bottle shattering or splitting.

With an advanced sealing mechanism previously developed, the casework was styled, and the opening and closing mechanism fully developed, the Carnival was simple to operate – especially so that a child could use it in safety!
