Equinox Partners are proud to have supported Musical Fidelity’s in-house engineering design facility for a considerable number of those 25 years, from the days of the early B1 amplifier to the current blockbusting kW-Series.

Notable achievements over this time have included the outstanding F-Series range of valve/solid state amplifiers and the extraordinary high-end ‘Chronos’ valve amplifiers.

F-series

The F-15 power amplifier and its companion F-22 pre-amplifier represented a radical departure from traditional machined enclosures into the use of sculptural, interlocking aluminium extrusions.

This radical approach also reflected the novel introduction of hybrid valve/solid state electronics that offered enthusiasts the warmth of character of valves coupled with the durability of solid state circuitry.

Whilst, at the time, the F-series were deemed too pretty by the cognoscente, they are now being recognised as classics in their own right.

X-series

In a major diversion from their normal run of products, the X-series of compact, stackable amps, tuner and CD player featured all the sophistication of their larger products without the need for shelf space.

The lozenge shape was a radical departure, but it allowed for the economical use of a single aluminium extrusion for the casework, incorporating all the necessary heat-dissapating properties as well as providing integral mountings for the circuit boards and other mechanical fixing points.

A5CR-series

Value-for-money has always been a hall-mark of Musical Fidelity’s products, regularly showing up competitors products that cost many times more.

The simplicity of the casework construction, featuring chunky aluminium extrusions (rather than hewn from solid), allows greater concentration on the quality of the electronics and superb sound reproduction.

The no-nonsense design of the current A5-series appeals to the high-end of this heavy-weight audio market. There are no mass-produced, plastic fittings on Musical Fidelity products!

kW-series

The strong aesthetic for the A5CR was a feature on Musical Fidelity’s larger kW-series products, the 500 and 750, and has been continued through to their current range of high-end amplifiers and integrated units.
