As a small private bank in the City of London, Cater Allen was taken over by the Abbey National Group and revitalised by the introduction of a whole new corporate image.
The Corporate Graphic Guidelines featured the development of a revitalised logo and a distinctive, up-lifting ‘graphic sweep’ across the entire range of brochures, direct mail pieces and national colour and black & white advertising.
The marketing materials also featured the introduction of a colour code system to differentiate between Onshore and Offshore divisions and whether the materials were destined for consumption by Customers or Independent Financial Advisers.
The rapid growth of Cater Allen Bank allowed it to subsequently take over Robert Fleming Private Bank, and the corporate graphics exercise was repeated with the new name ‘Cater Allen Private Bank’ with further development of a new logo and guidelines undertaken.
Cater Allen Bank became widely recognised as one of the most successful of the country’s small financial organisations.

A similar exercise targeted the all-important Independent Financial Adviser market with colour coding to differentiate the materials for the customer from those instructing the IFA.
Full support was given to the Marketing Team with a travelling exhibition system.

Cater Allen Offshore with FMCi
To complement the onshore banking operation, Cater Allen Offshore also required a range of marketing devices and sales aids to service the significant ex-patriate market from their Jersey offices.
Their High Interest Current Account brochureware was supported by clear easy-to-understand application forms and carried through to specially designed Sterling, Dollar and euro denominated VISA cards.
